Why ask Toby?

My father is Australian and my mother is Tahitian. I grew up and went to school in Australia, but 23 years ago I came to Bora Bora to discover my Tahitian roots. I came for a visit — and I’m still here.

Over those 23 years, Bora Bora has become my home. I’ve come to know the island, its people, its families and the people who make their living here. Now I’d like to share some of that local knowledge with you.

I also know what it feels like to arrive in another country — particularly somewhere that doesn’t speak your language. If this is your first time in our little paradise, there can be a lot of questions. And if you’re travelling with your family, there can be even more.

Where should we go? Who can we trust? What’s really worth doing? Where should we eat? What happens if we need a doctor, a dentist, a babysitter, a church — or simply some local help?

Sometimes getting the right answer can make the difference between having a good holiday and an amazing one.

I’m not a travel agent. I’m not a tour guide.

I’m simply someone who lives here, speaks your language and knows the island.

So whether you’re looking for an unforgettable day on the lagoon, somewhere special for dinner, an adventure with the family, or you simply have a question and don’t know who to ask — ask me.
